5 Business Tips for New Yoga Teachers

Remember the excitement and the slight nervousness of being a new yoga teacher? If I could sit down for a coffee chat with my beginner self, there are a few pearls of wisdom I’d love to pass on. Here are the top 5 business tips that would have smoothed my path:

  1. Build Relationships, Not Just Client Lists - The connections you make are the heartbeat of your practice. Cherish and nurture these relationships; they’re your biggest supporters and community.

  2. Consistency Over Perfection - It’s not about being perfect. What really matters is showing up for your students consistently, both in class and online.

  3. Embrace Digital Early - Don’t wait to take your teaching online. Whether through social media, a blog, or virtual classes, an online presence is essential to reach more students and grow your brand.

  4. Set Clear Boundaries - Your time and energy are valuable. Set boundaries early to maintain your well-being and passion for teaching without burning out.

  5. Invest in Yourself - Always keep learning. The more you know, the more you can share, making you a fountain of knowledge for your students.Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
